President Obama helps support D.C. area Goodwill Industries
The D.C. area Goodwill Industries chapters are getting a priceless lift this year. After newly elected President Obama came to power in Washington, things have improved. That is true for a lot of matters, including Goodwill Industries and their vehicle donation activities.
With auto donation, it is all about getting the greatest amount of cash to do good works in the community. A lot of people don t know what their money is being used for, but they do understand that it is essential. Part of the new effort has been letting people know where in the D.C. area their donation is going. When individuals see the consequences that their vehicle donation has on the metro area, they are obviously more likely to donate. This is what Goodwill Industries is banking on.
But Obama has helped by lending his approval personally to the D.C. area chapters. He has not only shown up at activities and lent his voice to the charity, but also he s a support for service on many levels. Everyone knows about the car donation program, but Goodwill is looking for going beyond that. President Obama shares this view, as he s been urging people both old and young to volunteer their time along with their cash.
As increasing numbers of supporters come to assist Goodwill Industries in their effort, things get increasingly simple. Vehicle donation is a substantial help, because the charity gets cash whenever an auto is donated. But they also need volunteers to execute their programs. Human capital is definitely more difficult to come by these days, but individuals now have greater leisure than ever to volunteer.
President Obama continues to labor on legislation that makes it less difficult for charities like Goodwill Industries to function. The vehicle donation program is made more simple because of the tax relief provision that accompanies the program. The effort now must be on progressing all of the other aspects of Goodwill s community effort.
